The hotel was just off where there are loads of bars, the centre of Mirissa and has a huge bathroom thanks to its quiet and easy location. The staff were attentive and efficient and know their duties.

I recently stayed at Villa Atulya, a truly unique and beautiful property. The design, by Sri Lankan architect Anjalendran, is a mix of Tropical Modernist and colonial styles. The spacious rooms and verandas were a delight, as were the two lovely swimming pools and the ocean view from our room. The staff was friendly, attentive, and went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. We even had the opportunity to learn how to make Sri Lankan curry with the chef, which was a fun and delicious experience. The WiFi was reliable and fast, adding convenience to our stay.

The beach was not a traditional sandy beach and swimming was limited due to the presence of stones and coral. However, there were plenty of opportunities for exploring marine life and there was a lookout nearby.
